Cell viability/dose response testing (reproducible) with neoplastic cell lines (U-87, HEP G2, A 375). This conclusively demonstrates the exponential increase in antineoplastic levels.
Selective activation of apoptotic pathway (confirmed) - after neoplastic cells briefly exposed to our compound. Mechanism studies/caspase assays (consistent with activation of apoptotic pathway) demonstrating increase in caspase 3 levels - after exposure to (S)-2-Amino-3-(3-phenylacetylimidadazol-4-yl)propanoic acid. No increase is observed in the controls.
No evidence of toxicity at g/kg p.o. doses in mice, ug/ml potency against Gram-negative bacterial pathogens.
Confirmed no toxicity to human B-cells (Bone marrow cells).
